how-to install WMware 6.0.3 in Linux:

First, do this:

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r`

sudo apt-get install xinetd

Now, run the vmware install, it will more then likely fail on vmon module. Do this first:

sudo ln -sf /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1
sudo ln -sf  /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0

Download the latest any-any patch – currently vmware-any-any-update-116

From Here

hen: tar xzvf vmware-any-any-update-116.tgz

Continue with: cd vmware-any-any-update116

And: ./runme.pl and when asked to run vmware-config.pl answer YES

Configure as usual.

Enjoy!

Cheers
